Our Books Quality

A book’s quality is in the details: its cover, corners, binding and pages, as well as the edition and format you receive. This guide explains what to check before ordering and how to report a concern when your books arrive.

Condition: the details that matter

When assessing a book’s condition, look at the cover and spine, the corners and page edges, the binding, and the pages inside. Bent corners, scratched covers, folded pages, loose pages and printing defects are distinct concerns; a clear description helps identify the issue.

If a particular condition detail matters to you, contact Book Lovers BD before ordering to ask whether it can be checked for the available copy. Copy-specific inspection or photographs may depend on access to the stock. Do not assume that every copy has been individually inspected or that a particular condition can be guaranteed unless it has been confirmed.

Packaging and protection

Protective packaging should limit movement inside the parcel and help shield the book’s covers, edges and corners. A thin outer wrap alone may offer limited protection against pressure or impact during delivery.

If you need a particular level of protection, ask before placing your order whether additional wrapping, corner protection or a sturdier outer package is available. Packaging materials and special arrangements should be confirmed rather than assumed. No packaging can eliminate every transit risk.

Know your edition and format

Before checkout, review the product description and selected variant for the stated binding, language, edition and print format. Paperback and hardcover are different formats; where black-and-white and colour options are offered, check which one you have selected. A digital edition is not a physical book.

If a specific publisher, ISBN, publication year, cover design, paper type or print specification matters to you, request confirmation before ordering. A title or cover image alone may not establish those details. Any detail not stated in the listing should be treated as unconfirmed.

When your parcel arrives

Check the outer packaging, then inspect the book’s covers, corners, spine and pages. If you notice damage or receive a different item or format from the one ordered, keep the book and its packaging while you report the concern.

Useful photographs include the parcel exterior, the shipping label, the packaging inside, and both a close-up and a wider view of the affected area. For an edition or format mismatch, include the relevant cover, title-page or ISBN details.

Reporting damage and requesting help

  1. Contact Book Lovers BD using the contact details provided on this website or with your order. Report the issue as soon as reasonably possible and check the applicable return policy for any reporting requirements.
  2. Include your order number, the affected book title, a short description of the issue and any available photographs. Explain whether your concern is transit damage, a condition or printing problem, or an incorrect edition or format.
  3. Ask for confirmation of the next step before sending the book back. Return instructions, any shipping costs and the proposed resolution need to be confirmed for your case.
  4. If a replacement is offered, availability of the correct edition and format will need to be checked. Any return, replacement or refund will depend on the applicable policy and the circumstances of the order.

This guide does not establish a guaranteed replacement, a free return service or a fixed resolution time. Refer to the applicable return policy and the instructions confirmed for your order.
